The faculty of pharmacy organized in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students (the conference of vocational guidance and development) on Sunday 2/4/2017 at the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Mezzeh, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nazir Ibrahim, the university president, the university vice-presidents, the deans of the faculties, the teaching staff members and the students of pharmacy in addition to the presence of Dr. Ramez Orfali, the director of Damascus health, Dr. Talal Ajlani, the secretary of the central pharmacists syndicate and a number of representatives of pharmaceutical companies and laboratories and pharmaceutical training companies. The conference included a series of lectures which focused on the fields of work available to the graduates of the faculty of pharmacy, the qualifications and competencies that must be available to the graduate of this faculty to obtain a distinguished job opportunity in all fields of work available in pharmaceutical companies and factories, or pharmacies and the medical analytical laboratories, or the governmental health sector. The conference also discussed the opportunities of graduates to pursue postgraduate studies inside or outside Syria. In addition to the conference a special exhibition was organized for the job opportunities with the participation of a group of companies and institutions specialized in pharmaceutical industries or pharmaceutical marketing, which offer job opportunities and training opportunities for the graduates of the faculty of pharmacy. The exhibition was characterized with a great interaction of the students of the faculty who moved among all the companies participating in the exhibition and presented employment or training application forms in these companies. The University administration thanks all those who participated in organizing the first (conference of vocational guidance and development) in the faculty of pharmacy and thanks the lecturers and the representatives of the companies for their cooperation and contribution to the success of the conference and exhibition and wishes success and good luck to the students of the faculty of pharmacy in their scientific and professional careers.
