New Horizons in Allergic Diseases and Treatment


Under the patronage of Prof. Nazir Ibrahim, President of the Syrian Private University and in cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine and the Syrian Association of Ophthalmologists, a scientific symposium entitled "New Horizons in Allergic Diseases and Treatment " was held on Thursday 13/12/2018 in Laique theatre.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Syrian Private University Prof. Nazir Ibrahim, the Vice President of the University- Prof. Mohamed Riadh El Ghazi, the Advisor of the President of the University for Scientific Affairs- Prof. Ammar Kheirbek, the President of the Association of Ophthalmologists in Syria- Prof. Khaled Al-Khalid, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Syrian Private University and his deputies and professors, in addition to a selection of specialized doctors, those who are interested and the university students.

The meeting opened with a minute of silence on the souls of Syria's righteous martyrs, the Syrian Arab anthem and the anthem of the Syrian Private University.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Nizar Al-Daher, delivered a welcome speech to the audience, speaking about the importance of holding these seminars and their positive and effective impact on students' achievement and results in the Standardized National Exam.

In turn, the President of the Syrian Association of Ophthalmologists , Prof. Khaled Al-Khaled, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Presidency of the Syrian Private University for its hospitality and interest in holding joint scientific symposiums within its headquarters and praised its scientific outputs through its graduates. He also talked about the association of ophthalmologists in Syria, its inception and its most important activities.

Prof. Nazir Ibrahim's speech was the closing of the official opening where he welcomed the existing scientific minds and urged the students to be committed to their attendance and participation in scientific seminars to raise the level of their academic and scientific performance and distinguish them among their colleagues in the other universities and stressed the readiness of the Syrian Private University to host any symposium or activity that will keep pace with the latest research and scientific developments, and then opened the scientific program, which included a range of topics related to the subject of the symposium where lecturers talked about mechanisms of allergies, eczema of the skin, allergic rhinitis, allergic eye, nervous mechanisms of allergy as well as food and drug allergies. The symposium concluded with debates of specialists lecturers to answer questions through the round-table discussion.
