The Syrian Private University (SPU) Won the First and Second Places in the Collegiate Programming Contest (CPC) Held for Private Universities

The Syrian Private University (SPU) won the first and second places in the Collegiate Programming Contest (CPC) for private universities organized by the university on Saturday and Sunday 8-9/7/2017 with the participation of a group of Syrian private universities. The (Karberos) team consisting of the students (Noureddine Arar - Nicolas Hanna - Ammar Abu Kalam) won the first place, while the second place was won by the (Sycrash) team composed of the students (Adham Khawaldeh, Tala Al-Sha'ar and Ammar Al-Raz). In the third place was the (Byte me) team from Yarmouk Private University consisting of the students (Wissam Shaker, Amjad Al Masri and Said Ramadan), followed in the fourth place by the (Code legion) team from Arab International University (AIU). The SPU team (Karberos) received the award allocated for solving the largest number of issues by sending one Solid Programmer where the team managed to solve 8 issues by sending only one. In addition, the team (lets C) from SPU, composed of the students (Zain Qawas - Bisher Al-Laham and Yasin Sulaiman), participated in the competition.  

The winners were announced at the closing ceremony organized by SPU in the presence of    Prof. Mohammad Riyad Al Ghazi, Vice President of SPU, Dr. Jaafar Al-Khair, Director of CPC, Prof. Yasser Huraira, President of Al-sham Private University, and Dr. Medhat Al-Sous who is responsible of the CPC of private universities in the Syrian Computer Society (SCS). Also, the ceremony was attended by Prof. Ahmed Al-Najjar, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering at SPU, the deans of the Faculties of Computer and Informatics Engineering at the participating private universities, the competition coordinators, members of the educational and administrative staff of SPU, and a number of students.  

SPU administration thanks all participating teams in this competition and congratulates the ones who won the first three places for the great efforts they made, in particular SPU students who won the first and second places. Also, it gives special thanks to the trainer of SPU teams Eng. (Said Serhini) for the great effort he exerted with the students during the exercises, and to the referees, technicians, trainers and volunteers who contributed to the success of this competition.
