The Faculty of Medicine of the Syrian Private University launched Research in Medical Science: Skills and Techniques, a new training course for selected medical students. The first session was held on Monday 23/10/2017 at Damascus Hospital. Prof. Nazir Ibrahim, President of SPU,  the Dean and Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Medicine, the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Dentistry and some members were in attendance. 

In the first session, Prof. Ibrahim gave an introductory lecture on “How to Read a Scientific Research”, on the most important steps for writing research and publishing research papers in refereed journals. Prof. Ibrahim highlighted the skills  of  effective presentation of scientific research. During the second session, Dr. Lama Al-Jabban elaborated on the principles of writing academic research and preparing it for publication.

It should be noted that the course is conducted in English and its sessions are held on a weekly basis. It was designed as part of the university's desire to qualify its students to publish more research in international refereed academic journals.
