General Information

Description

Human Resource Management (HRM) course will allow student identify HRM concept and its importance and the difference between HRM and what previously named personnel administration. As well as why HRM considered independent science. Student will also identify the HRM hierarchy in different organizations sizes. In addition, students will be introduced to the main functions of  HRM in general with special focus on the important ones that every student should be familiar with including; human resource management as a strategic function, job analysis and design, recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, safety and health, employee relations, global HRM, and HRM metrics. It will also introduce the HRM functions that relate to Human Resource Development including; orientation and training, career development, and performance management. Furthermore, the student will be introduced to many HRM basic forms, practical examples, and case studies.

Expectations and Goals

-Introducing student to the human resource management (HRM) fundamentals and its importance and hierarchy and the difference between HRM and old personnel administration.

-Introducing student to the main functions of HRM.

-Focusing on the main HRM functions including; job analysis and design, human resource planning, recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, safety and health, and employee relations.

-Provide students with HRM forms, practical examples, and exercises.
