Description

Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) explores the relationship between the management of people and pursuit of an organizations strategic goals and objective. The course includes a number of basic topics : introduction describe the definition of human resources management science and the importance of study in business management and the strategic management of human resources .

The course focuses on three main strategies and their sub strategies:

First: the strategy of human resources staffing. The sub-strategies include: (business design and analysis strategy, strategy of human resources planning, human resource recruitment strategy, selection and recruitment strategy).

Second: the strategy of compensation and financial remuneration. Sub-strategies include: job evaluation strategy, direct pay strategy, performance appraisal strategy, and stimulus strategy.

Third: the strategy of developing and preserving human resources. The sub-strategies include: (Strategy for Training and Development, Strategy, Track and Career, and Work Environment Strategy). Which aim to create qualified, trained and motivated human resources capable of achieving the Organization's overall strategy.

Expectations and Goals

The objective of the course is:

1-            to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge about strategic management of human resources as a key function contributing to the overall strategy of the contemporary organization.

2-           identify the linkages between HRM functions and operations and organizational strategies, structures and culture.

3-           Discuss the significance of human resources management to present and future executives, and

4-           Describe the organizational and human resources systems that affect organizational outcomes.
