A reception and welcome ceremony for new students at the Faculty of Pharmacy for the

academic year 2019-2020

 

The Faculty of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, organized a

reception and welcome ceremony for new students for the academic year 2020/2019, on

Sunday 12/22/2019, in the presence of the President of the University Prof. Nazir Ibrahim, Prof.

Adel Nofal, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and professors, Vice-Dean of the College,

members of the Educational and administrative staff in the college, colleagues in the branch of

the National Union of Syrian students and a large group of new students in the college. The

ceremony started with a minute of silence on the lives of our righteous martyrs and the national

anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic, followed by a video on the National Union of Syrian

Students. After that, colleague Muhammad Yawer, head of the administrative body in the

College of Pharmacy gave a speech in which he welcomed the new students, and introduced the

work of the administrative body in the college and its role in assisting students in conveying

their suggestions and observations, in addition to its primary role in organizing various types of

activities and events at the university. Then the President of the University delivered a speech in

which he asserted the presidency’s keenness to support the college and provide it with the best

teaching and administrative staff in addition to all the supplies and equipment necessary to

ensure the quality of the educational process in the college, and he pointed out in his speech to

the great excellence achieved by the college in the past period by obtaining the first rank in the

Unified National Exam at the level of private universities twice in a row. In turn, the Dean of the

College of Pharmacy delivered a speech in which he spoke about the most important

achievements and successes achieved by the college in the past period and about the

distinguished teaching staff, and also provided some important information about the credit

hours system and the teaching system in the college in addition to providing some explanations

about the exam system and the approved academic warnings system At the university. He also

gave information about the accredited examination system approved by the college and how to

complete the exam paper. In conclusion, the student Rana Yared presented some special songs,

which all attendees interacted with and it was followed by the giving souvenirs to the new

students.
