The Syrian Private University / Faculty of Dentistry held a scientific day on infection control measures in dentistry on Wednesday 16/5/2012.
On this day, a group of dentists from the Syrian Arab Republic participated.Prof. Osama Ibrahim Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Syrian Private University Prof. Soliman Diop Assistant Professor, Department of Dental Diseases, University of Damascus Dr. Muhtaq Hattini A dentist interested in infection control and medical informatics Prof. Fadia Deeb President of Syrian Dentists Dr. Jihad Al-Bardan Member of the Damascus branch of the Association of Dentists Dr. Alian Abu Samra Member of the Damascus branch of the Association of Dentists Prof. Eyad Abu Asli Teacher at the International Private University of Science and Technology Dr. Shadi Khabazi Head of Infection Control Unit, Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Atef Darwish Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Syrian Private University Prof. Razan Khattab Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Damascus Prof. Dr. Siham Sayes Head of Compensation Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Al-Kalamoon UniversityThe scientific day included a series of lectures as follows: Lecture on the bacterial contamination of water pipes of the Sunni unit of Dr. Osama Ibrahim Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University followed by a lecture on the sterilization and disinfection of tools in dentistry of Dr. Mowafaq Hattini and lecture by Dr. Iyad Abu Asali on personal protection methods. After a short break, Dr. Sulaiman Dioub gave a lecture on the assessment of the status of sepsis control in dental clinics in Syria And the role of the Ministry of Health in controlling infection in Syria was the title and content of the lecture of Dr. Shadi Khabazi.At the end of the lectures, the scientific day competition was held for students from the Faculty of Dentistry. Ten questions were asked from the contents of the lectures and the winners were rewarded with a series of important medical books. Finally, a workshop was held on the reality and prospects of infection control measures in dentistry in which doctors participated in this scientific day. They issued important recommendations that were sent to the Ministry of Health and the Association of Dentists in order to strengthen infection control measures in dentistry in the Syrian Arab Republic.
