Faculty of Medicine at SPU in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students organized a scientific symposium on AIDS on Saturday, 2017/4/29 at the Institute of Martyr Bassil Al Assad in the presence of Prof. Dr. Riad Al Ghazi, Vice President and Prof. Dr. Nizar Al Dahir. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Youssef Al-Assaad, President of Doctors of Damascus, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, a number of faculty members and a group of students.

The seminar started with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The lecture entitled "The epidemiology of the spread of AIDS", in which he explained the role of the program and the role of the Ministry of Health in the diagnosis of these cases and follow-up examinations and necessary drugs, after that, Prof. Dr. Nizar Dahir lecture entitled (clinical demonstrations in patients with AIDS) Dr. Manal Mohammed, Head of the Department of Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Damascus. Then Dr. Rabia Al-Nahhas addressed the methods of laboratory diagnosis of AIDS before Dr. Mohammed Wahid Rajab Bek therapeutic options in AIDS patients. The symposium concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the lecturers. The University administration thanks the lecturers for the valuable information they provided during this symposium and hopes that these seminars will achieve the desired benefits.
