Description:

Includes the following chapters: The basic system and its basic properties, the ideal gas and its equivalent and its laws, PVT surface, real gases, material transformations, phase diagram, theory Kinetic kinetics of gases, energy equation, first law of thermodynamics and its crises, flow processes, thermodynamic thermodynamic law and its crises, motors and transformation of thermal energy into action.

Expectations and Goals:

1. Application of the academic programs of the College of Petroleum Engineering.

2.  Tthermodynamic laws studying , and their application in practical life.

3.  Scientific dealing with the concept of temperature and the conditions necessary to turn it into work .

4 -The behavior of real gases studying based on the ideal gas and its laws.

5. Studying of compressors, motors, and cooling circuits.

Course Schedule: 

The week

Topic

The first

Thermal thermodynamics, heat and how to use them, thermal motors and industrial revolution in Europe, energy , and the importance of this course for

all branches of engineering.

The second

Terminology, basic definitions, instrumentation, perimeter, open circuits, closed circuits, isolated systems and non-insulated systems.

The third

Operating body and its basic properties, zero law of thermodynamics.

The fourth

 

Temperature, thermometers, thermodynamic balance, thermal capacity, heat transfer heat tank.

 

Fifth

Molecular kinetic theory and fluid characterization parameters according to this theory.

VI

 

The laws of ideal gases: the law of Paul Mariot and Guy Lo Sak, the ideal gas equation, Avogadro's law, Dalton's law.

 

Seventh

Real gases, Van der Waals equation and how to calculate the ideal gas equation when the size of the qualitative becomes significant, the differences between the ideal gas and the real gases

VIII

Phase transformations, triple point and critical point, gas liquefaction, sublimation,

expansion and compression, pressure and volume schemes, pressure and temperature, temperature and volume, thermodynamic tables.

Ninth

The first law on thermodynamics and its crises, the labor and energy law, the energy of the interior, the definition of the inner layer, thermal flow, the mechanical equivalent of heat, the intelbe, the generalization of the labor law, energy and energy conservation law

Tenth

Volume, pressure, heat, adipativity and polarity processes, adipatetic processes and reverse and non-inverse processes

Eleventh

Energy equation, energy equation definition, energy equation properties, Carne cycle, reverse Carno cycle, heat generators and their yield, cooling circuits and performance factor evaluation, examples.
