Description:

Includes the following chapters: 1 basic principles, tensile and compression, shear, geometry of sections, twisting, bending, complex resistance (general cases), calculating the stability of compressed rods (Buckling).

Expectations and Goals:

1. Application of the academic programs of the College of Petroleum  Engineering.
2. Perform the necessary calculations to determine the external forces and the reactions of the supporters.
3. Determination and calculation of stresses: tensile, pressure, shear, wicking, bending and bending.
4 - Identification and calculation of distortions and displacements.
5. Calculation of static inertia and inertial inhibition of axons and calculation of statistically non-assigned issues.

Language of instruction : Arabic.

Topic

The week

A Brief History and Introduction to resist materials and their properties and the importance of this decision, all branches of engineering.

 

The first

Basic principles, the assumptions used in the resistant materials, systems and sentences the units of the international measurement, technical and British.

The second

External forces (loads), deformation and displacement, the way sectors, and stress, resolving issues.

The third

Tensile and compression: Determine the internal forces, determine the stresses, deformations and determine the offset, the safety factor and determine where the stresses are allowed, issues.

The fourth

Matters not specified in the case of static tensile and compression, the relationship between the distortions and stresses (hooks law) Act, the work of external forces when the tensile and pressure, the energy situation, Problems .

 

Fifth

-        Shear: determine the stresses, deformations when mowing, power modewhen mowing, the relationship between the three constants flexibility μ, G, E.Problems .

Engineering characteristics of sections:statical moment for sections, moment of inertia of the sections, the relationship between the moments of inertia for axes parallel . Problems

Seventh

Moments of inertia of simple and complex forms, moments of inertia when changing rotation axes, issues.

Torsion (twisting): Put the chart torsion moments, determine the stresses in the bars with circular and non-circular sections, the relationship between the torque is transmitted by the column and the reach and angular velocity ,Problems .

Deformations and offsets when the torsion bars, twisting the thin-walled bars, graphs planning to torsion angles, matters not specified statically, Problems.
