Description:

The course includes:

Different topics to help students identify the seismic method and modern methods of interpretation of seismic data by presenting the following topics: familiarize Students of seismic method, field use, data collection, seismic Signal  and its physical properties, seismic interpretation techniques for stratified sequences Seismic (Identify the reflections of seismic Section, determination of seismic sequences, determination of upper formations, interpretation and identification of structural traps and time (isotime)  mapping  of reservoir formations), direct seismic indicators for hydrocarbon detection.

 Expectations and Goals:

 1- Familiarize students of seismic signal, its types and characteristics, and the seismic resolution and its relation         to the geological structures.
2- Familiarize students of the different seismic surveys methods and their uses.
3 - Training students on the initial interpretation of the seismic sections.
4- - Familiarize students of seismic characteristics and areas of use.
5 - Training students to identify the various seismic sequences, distinguish between them, and identify the upper formations on the seismic sections in addition to the distinction of other events on the seismic sections (Faults, salt domes,)
