General Information

Description

This course presents a set of very important topics, which presents the basic principles and methods used in the classification of oil and gas resources. It presents the key words and definitions of physical, chemical and thermodynamic characteristics of all oil liquids (oil, gas and water). In addition, (ASTM) to estimate the properties of these fluids, and shows how these characteristics are measured and used in all sectors of the oil and gas industry.

Expectations and Goals

This course is an adequate explanatory tool and an auxiliary work guide for workers in the oil and gas industry. It aims to:

1-    The definition of the most important chemical bases and commercial parameters used in the classification of oil and gas resources.

2-    Provides a preliminary idea and definitions of the physical, chemical and thermodynamic characteristics of all oil resources.

3-    Training on how to use the international standards to estimate these fluids.

4-    How to measure these properties empirically and experimentally.

5-    Give the student experience in the importance of using these characteristics in the various sectors of oil and gas industry (design model)
