New circulars from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding electronic publishing of lectures on universities' websites

Quoted from the official Facebook page of the National Union for Syrian Students

As a continuation to the circulars issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding governmental procedures and decisions taken for prevention purposes of Coronavirus, especially the circulars related to electronic publishing of lectures on universities’ websites, Because of the difficulty of determining the date of return after  the suspension due to the current circumstances, and starting from the importance and  knowledge of our fellow students  to follow up their academic studies, The committee in charge of presenting appropriate proposals and options for all possible scenarios for students' attendance in private universities held a meeting after the lockdown that concluded with the following proposals:

1-      Emphasizing the importance of continuing the upload of scientific material for all courses by all private universities on their websites for the purposes of remote communication between professors and students in order to facilitate understanding and reviewing the scientific material, in line with all previous relevant circulars.

2-      No test score shall be taken into account through electronic communication according to Clause / 1 / above.

3-      All theoretical and practical lectures that have been published electronically (except for laboratory work) must be extensively reviewed after the lockdown. Any inquiries or questions from students must be answered. This helps to intensify the curriculum and shorten the time to compensate the scientific loss during suspension.

4-      All theoretical and practical lectures related to laboratories that have not been published electronically must be reviewed according to the specified hours for each teaching program.

5-      The universities must amend their calendars through possible future scenarios after the lockdown in accordance with all of the above mentioned and with the relevant governmental procedures and decisions.

The National Union for Syrian Students hopes that students keep in touch with their universities, professors and follow up their courses and materials, in order to alleviate the academic pressure when all lectures are reviewed intensively upon reopening universities.

Best wishes
