General Information

Description

Knowledge of parasites as one of reasons of diseases in human and their types (monocytic and microscopic sized, polycytic and big sized). The course aims at making the medicine student aware of parasites kinds popular in the region and those that cause international health problems. This includes study of a parasite, its spread areas, life cycle, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and control modes of parasite and disese.

 

Expectations and Goals

1.            Review of the medical parasites, fungi and the criteria used to classify them

2.            Description of the  life cycle of medical parasites and fungi

3.            Review of pathological mechanisms and the immune reactions induced by medical parasites and fungi

4.            Review of modes of transmission & infection of common medical parasites & fungi

5.            Review of the principles of prevention of common medical parasitic and fungal diseases and their treatment medical parasites and fungi
