General Information

This course aims to provide the student with the following:

1 – The importance, for a medicinal chemist, of having adequate information about chemical groups and their reactions and uses in drug synthesis.

2- Identification synthetic organic compounds by using spectroscopic methods (NMR, MS, IR, UV).

3- How to propose chemical chart for any chemical organic formula to be synthetized starting from lead compound.

4- Synthesizing or semi synthesizing some drugs which have aromatic and hetero aromatic rings
