2) ملخّص المقرر ومراميه العامة

2) Crouse abstract & General Goals

 يهدف المقرر إلى فهم العلاقة الوثيقة للجراثيم والفيروسات الطبية بأمراض البشر الخمجية الجرثومية والفيروسية من خلال دراسة عامة ثم خاصة لخصائص الجراثيم الطبية من حيث البنية وطرائق النمو والتكاثر والنشاط الفيزيولوجي والكيميائي، وآليات إحداثها للأمراض، وكيفية تأثير المضادات الحيوية عليها .ودورها في العديد من الأمراض وآليات حدوثها وانتقالها وطرائق الوقاية منها.

كما يدرس الطالب الفيروسات وتوصيف تركيبها وتعداد خصائصها الأساسية وأسس التصنيف الفيروسي والإمراضية الفيروسية على المستوى الخلوي. ويميز الطالب التضاعف الفيروسي وطرائق إبطال فعالية الفيروسات طرائق عزل الفيروسات وتشخيص الأمراض الفيروسية والأخماج الفيروسية لدى الإنسان: طرائق العدوى والأعراض السريرية والوقاية والوبائيات والتركيبات المستخدمة في اللقاحات وأهم اللقاحات الفيروسية والأدوية المضادة للفيروسات وتوضيح آليات تأثيرها.

يتناول المقرر عرضا لاهم العوامل الممرضة الجرثومية و الفيروسية التي تصيب الانسان حيث يحدد الصفات الشكلية والزرعية ويشرح الآليات الإمراضية والأشكال السريرية للأمراض التي تسببها و توضيح طرق الانتقال و طرق التشخيص المخبري و المعالجة و الوقاية منها.

 The course aims to understand the close relationship of Medical germs and viruses with humans infectious diseases  through a general then specific study of the characteristics of medical germs in terms of structure,  methods of growth, reproduction,  physiological and chemical activity, pathogenicity in causing diseases, and how antibiotics influence them. And their role in many diseases and mechanisms, occurrence, transmission and methods to prevention.

In addition, the student studies viruses, their structure , basic characteristics, basis of viral classification and pathogenesis at the cellular level. The student recognizes viral replication and methods invalidate the effectiveness of viruses, methods of isolation and diagnosis of viruses. Viral diseases and  infections in humans: the modalities of infection, clinical symptoms and prevention, epidemiology,   vaccines and the most important viral vaccines and antiviral drugs And to clarify the mechanisms of its  influence.

The course includes a review of the most important bacterial and viral agents that infect human as it specifies their morphological and cultural properties and explains their pathogenicity mechanisms and clinical forms of the diseases caused by them. And clarifying means of transmission, laboratory diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis from them.

بعد إنهـاء هذا المقرر بنجـاح، سـيكتسـب الطالب معرفـة وفهمـاً في:

After going through this course, student will gain Knowledge in, & understanding of:

·       تعريف الجراثيم والفيروسات الطبية وتحديد صفاتها الشكلية وخصائصها الإمراضية وشروط نموها وتكاثرها

·       تعريف الزمرة الجرثومية الطبيعية وتوزعها في الجسم البشري وأهم أنواعها وفوائدها

·       الإلمام بالمكونات الوراثية الرئيسية للجراثيم والفيروسات وطرق انتقالها

·       تعريف الإمراضية الجرثومية والفيروسية وتحديد عوامل الفوعة واستعراض آلياتها

·       استعراض الاليات المناعية للعضوية في الأخماج الجرثومية والفيروسية وتوضيح وسائل التمنيع الفاعل والمنفعل

·       معرفة المراحل الأساسية في التشخيص المخبري للأخماج الجرثومية والفيروسية وأهم الطرائق المستخدمة.

·       التمييز بين التعقيم والتطهير والطرائق الفيزيائية والكيميائية المستخدمة في كل منهما

·       تعريف مضادات الجراثيم والفيروسات ومعرفة الآليات الرئيسية لتأثيرها ومقاومتها

·       تحديد الصفات الشكلية والزرعية للجراثيم والفيروسات الطبية الشائعة والآليات الإمراضية والأعراض والعلامات السريرية للأخماج التي تسببها ومعرفة طرق انتقالها والتشخيص المخبري لها

·       Definition of medical bacteria and viruses, their morphological and pathogenic  characteristics and their growth and reproduction conditions.

·       Definition of normal bacterial flora, its distribution in the human body and its main types and benefits.

·       Familiarity of the genetic ingredients of bacteria and viruses and their modes of transmition.  

·       Deffinition of bacterial and viral pathogenicity and determination of their virulence factors and review of its mechanisms.

·       Review of the immunological mechanisms of the organism in bacterial and viral infections and clarifying the means of active and passive immunization

·       The knowledge of main steps of laboratory diagnosis of bacterial and viral infections and the most important used techniques.

·       Discrimination between sterilization and disinfection, and the physical and chemical methods used in each.

·       Definition of antibacterial and anti viral drugs and the knowledge of the main mechanisms of their effects and resistance.

·       Definition of morphological and cultural characteristics of the common medical bacteria and viruses, their pathogenicities, clinical symptoms and signs of the infections caused by them, and their modes of transmission and laboratoty diagnosis techniques of forms

·       معرفة طرق أخذ العينات المناسبة وتشخيصها

·       معرفة طرق معالجتها والوقاية منها

·       Knowledge of morphological and cultural characteristics of medical bacteria and viruses

·       Knowledge of their transmission modes, epidemiology, clinical symptoms

·       Knowledge of methods of getting suitable samples

·       Ways of their treatment and prevention ways

·       معرفة قواعد السلامة العامة والتعليمات المتبعة في مخبر الأحياء الدقيقة

·       استخدام المجهر الضوئي بشكل صحيح في فحص العينات الجرثومية

·       إعداد لطاخة جرثومية واستخدام تلوين غرام وتسيل نلسون وتمييز الأشكال الجرثومية

·       تمييز طرائق التعقيم والتطهير وتطبيق بعضها

·       استعراض أوساط الزرع الشائعة الاستخدام وطرق تحضيرها، وإجراء الزرع الجرثومي من عينة مرضية على نماذج مختلفة من الأوساط الزرعية.

·       وصف نتائج الزرع الجرثومي عيانيا ومجهريا.

·       التعرف على الصفات الزرعية والمجهرية لأهم الجراثيم الطبية.

·       تطبيق بعض الاختبارات الكيميائية الحيوية التفريقية لبعض الأنواع الجرثومية

·       تمييز اختبار التحسس الجرثومي للصادات

·       Knowledge of general safety rules and instructions followed in The Microbiolry Laboratory.

·       Use of the optical microscope correctly in the check of bacterial specimens.

·       Preparation of a bacterial smear, applying Gram and Ziel-Nelson Dyes and discrimination of bacterial forms.

·       Discrimination of sterilization and disinfection methods of and applying some of them.

·       Review of the common used culture media and their methods of preparation, and culturing bacteria from an abnormal specimen on different models of culture media.

·       Description of bacterial culture outcomes both visually and microscopically.

·       Identification of the cultural and microscopial characteristics of the most important medical bacteria.

·       Applying some differential biochemical tests of some bacterial types.

·       Discrimination of bacterial antibiotics sensitivity test.

After going through this course, student should be able to:

·       التعرف على الأمراض المعدية الجرثومية والفيروسية

·       الاستعداد للتعمق بالتشخيص السريري في المقررات السريرية اللاحقة خاصة مقرر الأمراض الباطنية الخمجية

·       معرفة أهم الفحوص المخبرية والشعاعية وتوقيت أخذ العينة المناسبة في الوقت المناسب

·       امتلاك الخبرات الأساسية للمعالجة والوقاية من الجراثيم والفيروسات والتي لا بد من استكمالها في مقررات الأدوية والمناعة

·       Knowledge of bacterial and viral infectious diseases

·       Being ready to go deep through clinical diagnosis in the coming clinical courses especially Internal Infectious Diseases

·       Knowledge of main laboratory and radial tests and the suitable time to have the suitable specimen

·       Having the basic experiences of treating and prophylax from bacteria and viruses which has to be completed in Pharmacology and Immuonology
