Final Report on the visit of the faculty of dentistry delegation to India.

A delegation of the educational staff and  the faculty of dentistry at the Syrian PrivateUniversityvisitedIndia during the time from 22/11 until 2/12/2016 in response to an invitation from the Dental Surgeons Association INDIA (DSAI)

The delegation consisted of 9 students under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mazen Zainati accompanied by Jana AlSalem, the teaching staff at the faculty of dentistry.

The visit was of two aspects:

The 1st Students exchange

The 2nd scientific participation in the 9th International Conference Of Dentistry Students, and the 3rd Conference for Dental Surgeons convened in the faculty of dentistry premises BRS in Chandigarh city.

The SPU delegation was received warmly and with remarkable hospitality. The Indian part offered all what met the delegation’s needs with personal interest and brotherly treatment and care.

First: the SPU delegation contributions in the  in the 9th International Conference Of Dentistry Students, and the 3rd Conference for Dental Surgeons was distinguished represented by:

-  Valuable lecture delivered by Dr.JanaAlSalem in children’s dentistry rich in clinic experience.

-  Distinctive lecture delivered by Dr.MazenZainati on maxillofacial blubbers with presentation of clinical cases.

-  Dr.Mazen Zainati chaired one conference session.

-  The SPU students delivered five scientific researches conducted in the Syrian Private University, which were received by admiration and appreciation.

-  One of SPU students shared with a clinical care poster.

Second: the touristic and entertainment side: the Indian party organized a touristic and entertainment program which strengthened and deepened the relationships between the Indian and SPU students.

Third: the press conference: in one of Chandigarh hotels, a press conference was held in the presence of many Indian media. The chairman of delegation the thanks the Indian part for the hospitality, introduced the Syrian private university, talked on the importance of the agreement signed with the Dental Surgeons Association INDIA.

Fourth: visiting BRSfaculty the host of the conference. The SPU delegation visited the BRSfaculty premises and its different departments, met their heads and students; and exchanged experiences on the educational process in both faculties.

Side meetings with :

-      The president of Pacific branch of the global Union of dentists. All promised to give the SPU facilities n any future cooperation.

-      The chairman of the Indian Society for Dentists Dr. ChandreshShukla who expressed his desire to deepen the cooperation with the Syrian Private University, and emphasized on the scientific research cooperation with the Dental Surgeons Association INDIA (DSAI) as an introduction to cooperate with more than (300) subsidiary Indian faculties of dentistry. 

The SPU delegation showed a high degree of commitment and discipline, which was, achieved though a strict follow-up of the tiny details by the chairman of delegation which contributed in making the delegation a success.

Such visits are very beneficial and are recommended to be continued, as the visit was very successful and far exceed a student exchange. The SPU delegation highlighted the SPU scientific activities and potential as teachers and students and reflected a bright image of the Syrian Private University and of our beloved homeland Syria. In return the SPU delegation was acquainted with the civilization, culture and social traditions of India and many other things.

It is a very unique and rare chance for an academic student. None of the visit participants will forget it.

Many and sincere thanks to the university council and the board of trustees table for  the initiative for sending a student delegation in the current circumstances which is unprecedented at least among the Syrian Private University.
