Course description:
1 - Study the basic concepts of solid pharmaceutical substances, their crystalline forms, and their characteristics.
2 - Study of the pharmaceutical and technological physical properties of medicinal materials for solid pharmaceutical forms.
3- Study the specific pharmaceutical works that lead to solid pharmaceutical forms.
4 - Study the composition and formulation of solid pharmaceutical forms of powders and alveoli, preservatives and tablets.
5- Study solid, long-release, delayed, and controlled-release pharmaceutical forms, their composition and formulation.
Course objectives:
1- Understanding the formulation and synthesis of solid pharmaceutical specific shapes and inferring the factors affecting the design of formulas.
2- Understand the general idea of particles, stability angle, porosity, packing size and density, and their effect on pharmaceutical processes.
3- Understand the pharmaceutical processes that are used to prepare different solid dosage forms.
(Particle size reduction, sifting and mixing of powders, agitation, drying, pressing and coating)
4- Understanding the methods of preparing different pharmaceutical forms.
5- Knowing and describing solid pharmaceutical forms, their composition, formulation, stability, and monitoring their quality and applications.
