The Syrian International Private University for Science and Technology was established pursuant to Republican Decree No. 339 dated August 7, 2005. Its name was later amended to become the Syrian Private University, in accordance with Republican Decree No. 343 dated September 24, 2012.

The Syrian Private University represents a significant scientific, cultural, and developmental project aimed at supporting and advancing higher education in the Syrian Arab Republic. This mission is pursued through its adopted curricula, educational and training programs, and its distinguished faculty members, composed of specialized professors who are graduates of prestigious Arab and international universities across diverse medical, engineering, and administrative disciplines.

Through agreements concluded with renowned universities, the Syrian Private University seeks to foster scientific cooperation and cultural exchange with these distinguished institutions, with the objective of enhancing the quality of education for its students and providing all means that contribute to their academic achievement.

The University graduated its first cohort of students in 2009, and continues annually to supply society with groups of specialized graduates, well-qualified to compete in the labor market and to achieve distinction within it.

As a member of the Association of Arab Universities, the Syrian Private University aspires to be an active and distinguished scientific center at the local, regional, and global levels.
